Sky Destrian is a lover of stories in all forms, whether they're her own or someone else's. She channels this love of stories into writing about fandom by writing weekly at The Fangirl Initiative, as well as writing her own novels about all things weird. In addition, Sky is passionate about erasing the stigma behind both mental illness and chronic illness. In particular, she works with the non-profit Libero to help raise support and freedom for those with mental illness by giving them a platform to share their stories. When she's not doing any of these things, you can most likely find her with a coffee cup in hand, plotting her next plot twist, or trying haphazardly to save the world. You can most likely find her at any of the following social media platforms below as well.
The Fangirl InitiativeIn November 2014, Sky founded The Fangirl Initiative. It's now a thriving multi-author publication dedicated to discussing all the stories we love. In addition to managing the site and updating the design, Sky writes weekly about every fandom thing she's ever loved. However, she writes particularly on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., with weekly reactions on every episode.

LiberoAs of December 2015, Sky has been making graphics for Libero, an organization dedicated to mental health. Sky has struggled with anxiety since she was young, so to be able to help work with an organization dedicated to helping others like her is really amazing. Mental health is a struggle, but thanks to organizations like Libero, we are reminded that we are not alone.

Personal Blog
Since 2006, Sky has been blogging about her life, her experiences, and writing at Further Up and Further In. It started out on a homeschool blogging site when she was ten, and since then, it has evolved to what it is today: her space to discuss life, writing, and everything in between.

Web & Graphic Design
In addition to writing, Sky is a coding fiend. She designs graphics, blogs, & plots for world domination. (Just kidding on that last one.) (Or is she...?)
“I would rather be ashes than dust!
I would rather that my spark should burn out in a brilliant blaze than it should be stifled by dry-rot.
I would rather be a superb meteor, every atom of me in magnificent glow, than a sleepy and permanent planet.
The function of man is to live, not to exist.
I shall not waste my days trying to prolong them.
I shall use my time.”
